Australian Career Service 2005 Judith Leeson Excellence in Career Teaching Award
At the AACC conference in Sydney in April 2006 I was very excited to be announced the winner of this award. It is the first time that this award has had a specific category for Primary Schools, acknowledging the great career education work which is being done in Primary Schools in Australia. This award carried with it a beautiful trophy and certificate in addition to a prize of $5000 for the school to use for career education.
Case Study in Australian Journal of Career Development
I am delighted to report that I have had a case study published in this edition of the Australian Journal of Career Development, volume 14, Number 3, Spring 2005. It is an article that was written around a year ago, so we have moved on and done lots more since then, but such is the nature of peer-reviewed journals. I am very proud to have been included in a journal of this calibre. It is wonderful that the Career Profession is showing such an interest in the career development of younger children.

Generations Working Together
A wise person once said...
“The goal of career counselling is to facilitate the learning
of skills, interests, beliefs, values, work habits, and personal
qualities that enable each client to create a satisfying life within
a constantly changing work environment.”
— John Krumboltz
“The career counselor’s talent lies in her ability to
nudge clients towards hearing themselves, sensing the gifts that
are within them, gathering steam from their own imagination, and
moving themselves into action. It’s a tale that may start
in the counselor’s office, but it’s a story the client
writes herself.”
— Howard Figler & Richard Bolles
